Partnering with KidsCan

We are extremely grateful for the partnerships that we have with the New Zealand business community. Our partners share our mission to improve the lives of Kiwi kids in need.

Our partners financial support allows KidsCan to support more Kiwi kids which means they get to class with a full tummy and a warm body. Together, we’re levelling the playing field, so children whose families are struggling have the same opportunity to learn as anyone else. We also enjoy that our partners get involved too, it’s not just a monetary donation to them, they are truly invested in the good of Kiwi kids and want to help. They do this by kindly volunteering their time and getting involved which allows them and their staff to see and feel, at the ground level, the true positive difference that KidsCan and their partnership is having on Kiwi kids.

Increasingly, we are finding organisations interested in supporting our work are seeking true partnerships that create meaningful and measurable differences to their people, customers and society.

KidsCan Principal Partner - Meridian

Good to people, good for the environment

Meridian has been putting their energy into reaching more Kiwi kids in hardship since 2013, after staff volunteered at a local Wellington primary school breakfast club and saw the real need in the community, they wanted to help even more children. Meridian is one of the leading power companies in New Zealand, generating power from only 100% renewable sources and is committed to doing good things with their energy. To do good to people, and good for the environment.

They have partnered with KidsCan to provide thousands of Kiwi kids with the basics they need to remove barriers to learning because they believe every child deserves a decent start in life and deserves the same opportunity to learn as anyone else.

“We feel privileged to have been part of making a difference in the lives of Kiwi kids living in hardship” Meridian CEO Neal Barclay.

We like to think of our Major Partners as an extension to the KidsCan whānau, helping us make a difference to the lives of thousands of Kiwi kids in over 740 schools and 25 early childhood centres going without the basics, so they can focus on their education. Our Major Partners have access to a range of volunteer opportunities to engage staff in KidsCan’s work.

ASB

Our focus at ASB is accelerating financial progress for all New Zealanders, and that starts from a young age with children getting a good education at school. Every child deserves to go to school warm, dry and well-fed so they can make the most of the opportunities they have.

"We’re proud to partner with KidsCan to help achieve this” – Vittoria Shortt, CEO ASB
